Our goal is to organise the design forums making a carbon footprint that is as small as possible. Naturally, we are also developing a compensation-based model, and we will tell you more about that in the near future.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>This is a list of some of the ecofriendly practices adopted for Arctic Design Week conferences:<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><span>We do not give out material gifts for speakers. We have replaced gift-giving with local experience services.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span>We have stopped giving out material on paper at conferences. All material intended for visitors and staff is available in digital formats.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span>We have stopped using plastic drinking bottles in the forums.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span>We do not sell individually wrapped products.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span>We only offer wooden pens.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span>Familiarising our staff with our principles of responsibility is integral to our operation.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span>Presenting northern culture in the event is a central part of the conference area.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span>We try to make better packaging and minimise the use of transportation and materials.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span>The conference venue is easily accessible using public transport.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span>We engage in efforts to develop responsibility instruments for future years.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span>The paper used for all our marketing communications is SCF-certified.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><strong><span>Servings and responsibility during the conference:<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n<p><span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><span>All servings have been ordered from the local Korundi House of Culture.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span>Food responsibility information will be published at the seminar.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span>Coffees and teas are organic and\/or Fair Trade products.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span>No furniture or plants have been produced or ordered for the event.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span>Even dining table decorations take responsibility into account.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span>No disposable products are used for servings.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span>The number of participants is confirmed in advance, meaning pre-planning that avoids food surpluses.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>[\/et_pb_text][\/et_pb_column][\/et_pb_row][\/et_pb_section]<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>RESPONSIBLE DEVELOPMENT OF THE ARCTIC USING DESIGNWe are concerned about the Arctic region.
